The Boys are Back in town

Glassworks London adds another 5 new faces to the team

I know what you are thinking….since their seminal album Backstreets Back in 1997 The Backstreet Boys really have changed. Whilst that indeed may be true, this sadly is not their latest album cover. But there is some good news. With the New Year in full swing Glassworks London are pleased to welcome another 5 new faces to our line up.

Junior Compositor Tiago Barbosa, who hails from Portugal originally but grew up in Paris, impressed with his direct approach to joining our 2D team. Deciding he wanted to make the move to London, and with Glassworks firmly in his sights, Tiago literally walked into our offices with his show reel and has never looked back.

New Flame Artist Alex Pattinson, oozes Aussie charm and has the surfer hair to boot. As a freelancer both in Glassworks London and Amsterdam in 2015, Alex has already impressed our clients with his confident and measured approach. Having worked in both Commercials and Film since leaving high school, his biggest job to date was as part of the VFX team on Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, and is keen to further his commercial repertoire with meaty Glassworks projects.

Senior Producer Duncan Buxton joins us from 1stAveMachine, and is an experienced VFX producer having also worked at FieldTrip and Smoke & Mirrors. Working for big British Household names such as O2, Vision Express and Direct line, Duncan’s international roster includes key brands like Vodafone, Unilever and Adidas.

Duncan ‘Cookie’ Cook is a very familiar face to all of the Glassworks family. Having previously worked for us for 7 years as Head of MCR, for the last 3 years Cookie was working as a skilled electrician. But the call to return to us was just too great, and he now joins us once again as a Producer. Gregarious and incredibly hardworking, we are sure he will be popular with artists and clients alike.

Not technically a new face, Jack Wood also joins our Production team, after working with us as a runner. Jack’s enthusiasm for learning the ropes of a busy production team, has already seen him being involved in jobs for the British Animation Awards, and a major upcoming project with our Creative Director of 3D Jordi Bares.

Head of Production Paul Schleicher writes:  “With the new additions to the production and 2D departments we have added enthusiasm, technical and management expertise, a great bunch of personalities as well as maintaining our quotas of Duncans.”
