Nokia 'Live in Times Square'

In an extraordinary live event taking place in New York's Times Square, Glassworks teamed up with Mission PR and Nokia US for the launch of their Lumia 900 Windows Phone.
 
In true New York style, everything was on an epic scale, with flash mob style dancers, pounding sound effects, a 200ft high video wall and a surprise performance from an international superstar.
 
Times Square was decked out in Nokia blue & a live countdown for hours before, with Manhattanites and tourists alike buzzing with excitement about what the event would entail. At the drop of the curtains (both real and CGI), the international rapping sensation Nicki Minaj was revealed, much to the delight of the 30,000 strong crowd, bringing the whole area to a standstill.
 
Directors White Rabbit, at Glassworks, stunning 3 and a half minute video was designed around the exclusive remix of her single Starships and it played out on the gigantic 200ft high American Eagle screens behind her, enhancing the whole event and becoming one of the largest bespoke CGI displays ever screened.
 
With just a month to create such a feat, the team at Glassworks worked flat out to produce a consistently high quality body of work. With tesla coil electricity, cascading water, a graphic equalizer city fly-through and live action dancers in UV suits, the results are truly spectacular. They brought the event to life, fulfilling the brief of taking over Times Square for a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
